Promise app Privacy Policy
Last change date: 24.5.2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Promise app handles information when you use our iOS app.
Promise app helps users manage screen time by making promises, setting limits, receiving warnings, viewing usage insights, and interacting with in-app characters.
We designed the app to be privacy-friendly. The app does not require user accounts, does not show ads, does not include monetisation, and does not store your personal app data on our own backend servers.
You may enter a name when creating a promise inside the app.
This name is used only to personalize your in-app experience. It is stored locally on your device and is not sent to our own backend.
You do not need to enter your real name.
Promise app uses Apple’s Screen Time APIs to provide features such as app limits, blocking, warnings, screen time insights, pickups, streaks, and related usage statistics.
Screen Time information is used to provide the app’s core functionality on your device.
We do not store your Screen Time data on our own backend servers. We also do not use Screen Time data for advertising, selling data, or tracking you across other apps or websites.
Your use of Screen Time permissions is controlled by iOS and Apple’s Screen Time framework. You can revoke these permissions in iOS settings, but doing so may disable core app functionality.
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google, to understand general app usage, improve the app, and diagnose crashes or technical problems.
Firebase Analytics may collect information such as:
app opens and basic usage events;
app version;
device model;

language and region;
general interaction and technical usage information;
app instance identifiers or similar analytics identifiers.
Firebase Crashlytics may collect crash reports and diagnostic information such as:
crash logs;

technical information related to the crash.
We do not intentionally send your entered name, promise content, selected apps, Screen Time usage values, or app-blocking data to Firebase.
We do not use Firebase data for advertising or ad targeting.
Google may process Firebase data according to its own privacy practices.
We do not currently:
require user accounts;

share Screen Time data with third parties for marketing or advertising.
Some information may be stored locally on your device so the app can work properly. This may include:
your entered name;
selected character;
promise settings;
limits and warning settings;
streaks;
app preferences;
character state;
related app state.
This data stays on your device unless you delete it, reset the app, or uninstall the app.
We use information to:
provide the app’s core Screen Time features;
personalize the app experience;
show limits, warnings, streaks, statistics, and character moods;
understand general app usage;
improve app performance and reliability;
diagnose and fix crashes.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share limited analytics and crash-reporting information with Google Firebase, which helps us operate, improve, and debug the app.
We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users, the app, or others.
Promise app is intended for a general audience and may be used by users of different ages.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising or tracking purposes. The app does not require accounts, does not ask for contact details, and does not sell personal data.
You can:
choose not to enter your real name;
revoke Screen Time permissions in iOS settings;
delete the app to remove locally stored app data from your device.
Data stored locally in the app remains on your device unless you delete it, reset the app, or uninstall the app.
Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics data may be retained according to our Firebase settings and Google’s applicable retention practices.
We use reasonable measures to protect information handled by the app. However, no app, device, or electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Firebase is provided by Google and may process data in countries where Google or its service providers operate.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify users through the app or App Store listing.
